Welcome To Returning Home Wellness
Helping people move from chronic stress reactivity toward calm, open, creative states: Returning Home.
A Compassionate Approach
A Place Where You Can Be Heard
Therapy should be a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. I want you to be able to explore your experiences openly while discovering new paths toward healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
The logo chosen is a petroglyph from the Hopi tradition meaning “Several Returns” or “Homecomings” and this expresses the sentiment of my approach: healing is the continual returning to your Being or neutral state. We will be more or less continually swept up in life and sometimes this causes suffering in forms like anxiety, depression, frustration or the clinging to being loved, valued and accepted. Our “home” state, of calm, open, neutrality, and self trust offers a source of relief, of reduced intensity and upheaval. Let’s meet and I’ll show you how.
About My Services
Returning Home Wellness is about coming to a place of relative stillness, calm, and openness which enhances our ability to be more of who we were meant to be. This mental, physical, emotional and spiritual space of simply being for a moment in time is a building block to a new way of living. From there, it is possible to ‘hear’ the voice inside us a little better, to see other choices, be creative, or to simply relax.
I offer two very distinct approaches to help folks access this ‘Being’ state: licensed professional counseling services (available to clients in US states of CO, NE and KS) as well as Wellness Coaching (available to interested clients regardless of location and not insurance reimbursable). Often the choice between these types of services is simply about a preference for utilizing one’s insurance benefits which may cover some or all of a medically appropriate service. Others may be better served through Wellness Coaching which offers flexibility outside of the medical model service delivery structure. An additional benefit of coaching is to forgo a critical element of the medical model: diagnostic labels.
Ready for the Next Step?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about where to begin, support is available. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to talk through what you’re experiencing
What can I do to help? We will start by finding out what is currently happening, then review your history and identify problematic symptoms. Before the end of the first session, we’ll also discuss what’s helped and what hasn't, what is making it worse, and then clarify a goal (tied to what it would look like if things were better) and define a path toward that goal.
